Celebrate Dia de los Muertos, October 24

Immerse yourself in the rich Mexican tradition of Day of the Dead at the Heritage Haus Bed & Breakfast in Carmine Texas. It all starts with a shrine-making workshop at the Art Bodega from 2-5 p.m. Cost $60 includes all materials except your box of choice, such as altoid tin, cigar box, old suitcase, jewelery box, and other special trinkets. We will be transforming these boxes into portable shrines that shine. Ruth Airhart, my friend and art therapist , licensed professional counselor from Austin will lead this fascinating workshop. Then at sundown, we will invite our friends from this world and beyond to partake in a lively potluck party called Spirit Supper. Here, we will bring our loved ones’ favorite dishes, drinks, and desserts, along with their stories, music, and shrines, for all to admire! Musicians, bring your instruments, for pickin' on the porch! And one last treat, if you are traveling from out-of-town, we have comfy guest rooms available for a discount of $50 per person. Call or email Deb to save you a spot! heritagehaus@yahoo dot com or 979-830-7866 For more inspirations and Shrine examples visit the following links recuerda mi corazon and Laurie Beth Zuckerman: iconARTe the colorful painting above is from Flickr member yoborobo
